MBA Partnership
This was a client project for the MBA Partnership during my university course (2021) where we had to create a short video demonstrating what it's like to work at MBA.
I was the cinematographer on this project with our main cameras being the Sony FS5 and FS7.
A lot of practical skills were practiced in this project, the main one being shooting interviews.
Saying this there were definitely some parts I would improve (just from a cinematography standpoint)
some being just to ensure to clean the windows and fix and the 2 founders' interview shot as I don't like it due to the positioning of characters and framing.
If equipment allowed I would have achieved a 2 cam set up so I can get tighter in each subject when they talk and for the main front shot bring them closer together so the shot can be tighter to avoid all of their legs, too much headroom and being further than the thirds on each side of the frame.
HENRIETTA (2021) TRAILER
This was is the trailer to the short film (in my final year of university) that I was a part of during 2021
We spent the whole year working on this and my role was GAFFER (head of lighting) I made all the decisions on and off-set of what needed to be done to ensure everything ran as smooth as possible.
There were a few challenges throughout, for example, changing weather conditions and setting up day/night as we, unfortunately, had no grip team but I feel as though my team and I (2 people) managed to pull off something great with the equipment we had available.
The main lights that were used were film-grade aperture lights but I have in the past worked with HMI's and all your regular tungstens.
OBLIGITORY (2020) SHORT FILM
This was a short film I did during my university course as 1st AC (assistant camera)
We experiment with using sound stages and outdoor settings to create the final piece.
As 1st AC I was right alongside the DoP and helped with changing lenses, setting up shots as well as focus pulling for each shot to get the shots looking as crisp as possible.
